Frequently Asked Questions

How do I submit an offer? Click the Netotiate button Netotiate button next to the product listing and enter the price you are willing to pay.
Your offer is anonymous until you are ready to finalize your purchase.
Entering a fair price will increase the chances that the retailer will accept your offer. The price verification bar will assist you in arriving at a fair price. Next, click "Submit" and your offer will be sent to the retailer. Remember, the offer you make is binding.

What is the price verification bar? This color bar displays the probability that your offer will be accepted, based on past transactions and other variables.

How do I check the status of my offer? You can check the status of your offers on the "My offers" page.
Remember that within 48 hours after you've submitted an offer, you'll receive an email from us indicating whether the retailer accepted, declined, or counter your offer.

What is a counter offer? If the retailer cannot accept your offer, they may propose up to three alternative offers just for you.
They may suggest a compromised price, a slightly different product (e.g., color), or a combination of the product and an accessory for a special price, amongst other possibilities.
Counter offers will expire after 48 hours, giving you time to decide whether or not to accept one.
A counter offer only becomes binding if you accept it.

What can I do if my offer is declined? If the retailer declines your offer, you can search for the product again and make an offer to another retailer with the Netotiate button displayed. Use the price verification bar to improve the chances that it will be accepted. Alternatively, you can choose 'go to store' and buy the product at the listed price.

How do I know which retailers I can make an offer to? You will be able to recognize these retailers by the orange Netotiate button Netotiate button next to the retailer's product listing, under the "Netotiate" column in the product search results.

How long should I wait for a response to my offer? The retailer has up to 48 hours to respond to your offer. You'll receive an email from us if that time has expired and the retailer didn't respond to your offer. This rarely happens, but in such a case you can search for the product again and make an offer to a different retailer, or click 'go to store' and buy the product at the listed price.

How long does it usually take for retailers to respond to an offer? Retailers usually respond to offers within a couple of hours, but they are allowed up to 48 hours.

Can I cancel my offer after submitting it? The offer you submit is binding. You may not retract it.

How are offers binding? If the retailer accepts your offer, or if you accept one of the retailer's counter offers, you are required to complete the purchase.
Not doing so will affect your Netotiate rating and reviews, and may result in your being blocked from future Netotiate transactions.

Can I submit more than one offer to the same retailer? No. You may only submit one offer per retailer for a given product.
You should take this into consideration when you submit your offer.
A fair price will improve your chances of your offer being accepted.

Can I submit offers to more than one retailer for the same product? You may only submit one offer for any given product to any given retailer.
You are able to submit offers for the same product to multiple retailers, but remember that each offer is binding, meaning you'll be required to complete the purchase for each accepted offer.

How will I find out when the retailer responded to my offer? As soon as the retailer responds to your offer, you'll receive an email from us with their decision.
You can also check the status of your offers on My offers page.
